First Dance Productions have a purpose built dance studio where we our lessons in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire. Our studio is 32o sq ft, complete with air conditioning, sound system and mirrored walls, which are extremely beneficial for our couples when teaching choreography.
We try our best to make the rehearsal dates and times as convenient for you as possible. We suggest you start your first dance lessons 4 weeks before your wedding and recommend that your classes are 1 week apart. This gives you time for private practice of choreography, enabling you to return to your next lesson in good shape. However, if you need a last minute choreographed dance, this can be done. As long as we are available, we will be more than happy to schedule lessons for you.
What do we need to bring?
You will need to wear something that is comfortable. During your last lesson we highly recommend that you wear the shoes you will be wearing on the big day, or something very similar.
We also tell all our couples to bring a recording device to each lesson. This way you will have a reference of choreography you have learnt, just incase you forget a few steps in between lessons! Just bring your phone - unless you have a handset from the 1990's.
Do we need any previous dance experience?
No. It doesn't matter if you are a complete beginner! The majority of couples we teach are not dance trained. We are able to choreograph a routine to suit your needs and have you looking fabulous in time for your wedding day.
We want you to pick a song that is special and means something to you. We are very verstaile and can choreograph to any music choice...serious or quirky, anything goes! Alternatively, if you need suggestions, we are here to help.
Once you have decided on a song choice, you may need the music editing. Some couples need a simple edit, whilst others require a variety of songs to be edited together to create their track. If you would like your music to be edited for you, First Dance Productions offer a professional music editing service. Prices available on quotation, by request.
